ok the houses show.. but the interaction icons dont show.. like when i search for a job.. nothing shows up.. the game just freezes
i cant drag and drop the sims file into the maxis folder.. wont let me :/
Hi ! I’ve created a family and i’m trying trop create and decorate their home but items dont show up in the gallery, it’s only blue squares, so i don’t know what i’m clicking on :’)

Make sure you are running Windows XP Service Pack 3 and not 2 like the instruction say. It fixed my issue after some assistance program asked me if the game was running properly
nope.. now the game is glitched out completly.. houses dont show… and the gameplay gets a screen over screen over screen glitch idk how to explain…

the game sort of works, but when i hover over certiain things it shows only a flash, and when i click those things the game freezes
this doesnt work for me it keeps talking about having a DVD.

How to play in The Sims creator?
If start.exe and setup.exe don’t work, what I did was I took simscd.ico out of the folder and moved it to my desktop, and then restarted my pc. After that run start.exe in compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 3, and run as administrator, and that worked for me
For those having a hard time, don’t click start.exe, go to the setup folder and click setup.exe

how can i get it to install on another drive
You can’t, The autorun will always install it to the C: drive, but once it’s finished downloading you can move all the files “maxis folder” to any drive you want, the exe still works
Trying to install and the start.exe won’t open. Any thoughts how to make this work?

Like hellothere said go to the setup folder and click setup.exe
When I try to open the game I get to the screen where I click play then 1024×768 then it closes and nothing happens. How can I play?
Have you tried starting from the .exe in the folder?

You missed a step during installation, you hate to move a file, read the instructions on how to play it’s explained there !
