double clicking on the file that says start.exe doesn’t do anything
when i launch it says “cannot find sims data directory”

When i try to open the start.exe file it says that I need to insert the disk. Does anyone know how to fix this? thank you in advance!

I cant to the part 5:((( i just cant put the sims .exe in directory:( i just dont kbow how to do it.
So i cant do this thing : The Sims Crack” and drag & drop the “Sims.exe” to the directory where you installed the game (by default this is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\The Sims). When the popup appears telling you the file already exists, you want to select “REPLACE”. I just cant do it on my computer. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE😥 I really wanna play this game so badly:(

It didn’t work for me. First i didn’t know what to do in part 5 so propaply destroied files there and then i fixed it then i got anothor prolem. When i tryed dowload sims 1 Installshiel wizard says: unknown error encountered aborting setup. What to do i cant even delete sims 1 on my computer. So what to do ??? Can i even get it working. I have windows 10

Mmmm… you have to go to the istall wizard file and when ur inside of there DELETE everything there!!! Then it works. I had the same proplem first! Hope it helps.. but i have the same proplem in part 5 i dont know how to to that:( i wish someone would help us
When you install the game you get to choose directory, and if you dont then the game will be placed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\The Sims as it says in the instructions.
Open file explorer – Open Program Files (x86) folder – Open Maxis folder – Open The Sims folder.
when i click on setup, they say “setup is having trouble shutting down the autoplay program. Please restart your computer and try again.” What should i do? I have windows 11 too
*UPDATED* HOW TO PLAY:
(for those having issues and run on Windows 11)

Step 1: Download and Extract The_Sims_Complete_Collection_Win_Setup_EN.zip. If you don’t know how to extract, read this article: https://oldgamesdownload.org/wiki/install-games-on-windows/
(I personally selected the Archive.org download link which takes a little while to download)
Step 2: Double click on the file which says “Setup” under the Setup folder and then follow the on-screen instructions. Don’t mess with anything unless you know what you’re doing and just keep clicking next or ok.
Step 3: They will prompt you to enter a serial code – the code you want to use is: EQMV-73XB-F8J4-GSLX-4M67
Step 4: They will now prompt you to register – you want to select “Register later”. (I never got this prompt so ignore this step if you don’t see this)
Step 5: Now, open the the file called “The Sims Crack” and cut and paste the “Sims.exe” to the directory where you installed the game (by default this is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\The Sims). When the pop-up appears telling you the file already exists, you want to select “REPLACE”.
Step 6: Right click on the newly pasted “Sims.exe” file, copy it, and paste it on your desktop to create a shortcut
Step 7: You can now launch your game from your desktop! Keep reading to avoid issues >>>
Step 8: IMPORTANT: If your game is stuck in an endless loop when you launch it then try doing this:
• Right click on the shortcut game icon and click on properties. Go to the “Compatibility” tab and then:
• Check the box next to “Run this program in compatibility mode for” and then select “Windows XP (Service Pack 2)” in the drop down menu.
• Check the “Run as an administrator”
• And then click on “Apply” and then click on “Okay”. Now, launch the game by double clicking on the game icon.
Step 9: If your game is glitching and having issues do the following:
• Right click on your new shortcut again and click properties. Go to the “Compatibility” tab and then:
• Check the box for “Reduced color mode for 8-bit (256) color” and also for “Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution”
Step 10: Launch the game and you should have no issues!

Run “Setup” through administrator by right clicking, going to properties, select “run as admin”, click apply and ok. Then try running it after and see if that works.
You might need to create an exception for “Setup” under Windows Defender Firewall if you’re still having issues. If all that isn’t working, try re-installing the game with that exception because Windows Firewall may have excluded an essential part of the download.
My game personally wasn’t affected so you may not have to do that. I also had that error but it was when I was trying to launch the game the wrong way after set up.
For anyone getting this error after successfully completing the “Setup” step:
>> Don’t launch through “start” under the main “Game Files” folder
>> Make sure you’re launching through “Sims” under “C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\The Sims”
>> You’ll need to restart your computer if you attempt to launch through the uncracked game. That or end the task by bringing up task manager
I had this issue too. Its because I first clicked the ‘start’ application, and nothing happened. However, it was still somehow open in the background. When I then clicked ‘Setup’ the error you mentioned above popped up. All I had to do was ctrl + alt + delete and end the ‘start (32 bit)’ process that was for some reason running in the background.

hey! my game is glitching but after i changed to “Reduced color mode for 8-bit (256) color” and also for “Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution”, the game could not start? until i changed it back to the original mode (with the glitch) then it worked again… help, i dont want to play the game with glitches, is there any other way?

Start.exe doesnt do anything when i run it even on admin account
So I was able to download and run the games…but it says there is an error every time I try to save, Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Thanks
What windows do you have?
I keep getting an error that states “An installation support file could not be installed. Catastrophic failure”. I have also followed step by step instructions listed. I am able to open the installation launcher but this error shows when I click on install.
Start.exe wasn’t doing anything for me either – it would show in the task manager but wouldn’t show on the screen. I went into the setup folder and used Setup.exe and that worked!
