For me, there was already a shortcut to run The Sims 1024×768
Create a shortcut of the Sims.exe with this in the “Target:” line
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\The Sims\Sims.exe” -r1024x768
When i try to put it in the correct folder from what the instruction says it wants to create an shortcut on my desktop but not cpoy and every thing
Instead of trying to move it copy it then paste in the other folder then click replace
i cant open start.exe!!!!!!!!! it just never opens bruh someone help

I FIGURED IT OUT. if the setup.exe doesn’t open, but shows in task manager, DELETE THE FILE. TURN OFF YOUR ANTIVIRUS & FIREWALL, REDOWNLOAD THE FILE AND INSTALL. ANTIVIRUS deletes a critical installation file somewhere while it downloads. then continue to follow the instructions!

Bro my the sims is ready but not open
When I follow these instructions I get the following:
1) I am not prompted to register
2) Once I past the crack file in the directory and launch I receive a prompt telling me that the magic something extension needs to be updated and I need to insert a CD.
i open start.exe, click install and it wants me to insert the cd. help?
I’ve downloaded the file and extracted the folder. I’m trying to open start.exe but nothing happens at all. Am I missing something?
I’m having troubles with the decoration shop and the construction mode.
They don’t show the preview or the description of the items, so it makes it really hard trying to build. Anyone knows how to fix it?
They aren’t kidding when they say the shortcut you want is setup.exe (or start.exe in the Game Files). Use that to avoid resolution glitches.
