I found the Resolution fix text but I cannot find the Res folder to actually fix the problem in game. Ive searched my PC and the folder where the “Res” folder is supposed to reside doesnt seem to exist. Do you have any ideas? Because the long faces and bodies are driving me nuts.
After i download the file in redist folder, nothing show up in my dekstop theres no sims 2 icon whatsoever help!

I changed the in-game graphics settings to “shadows: off”, saved my changes, even restarted the game and I’m still getting the black blocks underneath my sims. :/
omg thank you so much! i had all the games on mac but now i have a PC and have been wanting to play. the only issue is it crashes randomly after about an hour or so of playing. It’s only mildly annoying, i try to save my game often to avoid too much loss of progress. is there anything i can do to reduce this random crashing on windows 10?

I’ve than everything as instructed and can run the game however no neighborhoods are showing up and I can’t create any since it says the files are emty. I think it has the do with the sims 2 store I had installed before but deleted (together with my not complete sims 2 games). Any advice on how to fix that

I downloaded this about two months ago on a different computer, worked great. I have just gotten a new computer and went to download it, made sure I had no EA games folder, etc. before downloaded. I get past the loading screen (sometimes when I’m lucky) and it crashes. Any help?

i try to run it but it says “Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate.” what do i do??

Here is the answer:
Try to put your the sims on the windowed mode! “The only thing you have to do is add a -w at the end of your normal shortcut.
Right-click on the game icon and select properties.
* At the very end of the Target path (after the “), put in a space then -w and click OK.
It worked for me 🙂
