I did all the steps, but when I try to open the game, it says I don’t have Directx 9c installed. I have Windows 10

I fixed it, by plying it in windowed mode.

I believe they’re implying that Directx 9c is already installed but the game is not detecting it. Correct me if I’m wrong OP.
so i downloaded like it said to do, as well as following the tutorial on youtube and the game just restarts my pc. any help on this would be great. 🙂

Mansion and Garden was the last Sims 2 expansion (I believe). All of the expansions are installed, but the loading screen just shows the most recent expansion.
Thats how the game has always been. It will always show the most recent expansion
My laptop starts to crash a lot, not sure what is the game doing to my memory space, it seems to be a virus I think

OK so i just moved the sims 2 stuff from the doctumets folderr to drive E and eveything sea,s fine now
i got passed the crash on loading the neighberhood, but all i see after the into cutscene is a blank skybox with a black square surrounding it, any ideas?
does anyone’s game crash on CAS? how can i fix it?
Hey guys! If you’re running Windows 10 and having issues playing the game (mine kept crashing seconds after opening), I found this YouTube video that actually fixed everything. Make sure you follow EVERY step. I’m not sure if it will work with other Window versions (or Mac?) but it worked for me.

How did you do this? I downloaded this ultimate collection and i don’t have fun with pets in my files. Help.
Nevermind, my EP9 was under mansions and gardens etc
Really upset.
Only Mansion and Garden runs.
(My PC’s region is set to Japan.)
When i try to run SIMS2 or SIMS2Pets it comes up with a message saying CD-ROM and OK.
But i don’t understand what that means.
Legit all the games DON’T work for me except for M&G.
I also can’t change the resolution and the folder structure described is not in my game folder. Any suggestions?
Don’t know if this helps, but when I installed everything, instead of ‘EA Games’ the folder was under ‘Mr DJ’. Right click on the game icon on your desktop and click ‘show in folder’ and it should take you to the directory it’s installed in.

Anyone have any luck with adding CC to this? I’ve tried the add downloads file but it doesn’t add the CC into the game, even with the cc enabled.
I got mine to work. Make sure the folder is “Downloads” with a capital D, and that it’s inside this directory: Documents > EA Games > Sims 2. Then make sure you have CC enabled in the game. It won’t give you a message at startup telling you it’s active or anything, so you have to actually go into a create-a-family and check.

Everything seems good, but when I tried to play firt time, there are no neighborhoods at all. I don’t know what is wrong… can you help me?
Rename the sims 2 folder in documents to something else and the game should start fresh if the neighborhoods don’t show up then, download the hoods from google and make sure you install them correctly
ah downloaded and followed the instructions. it was a tad difficult at first but i got it to work! it crashes sometimes but i’m not surprised since it is such an old game. thank you!!
