Ok for those getting fatal error right after launching the game, and for those whose code doesn’t work, and probably all other issues to get the game to launch. This just now worked for me on Windows 10. Direct download, Extract zip, open folder, open Game Files, open Setup, then right click the application file “Setup” and choose “Solve Compatibility issues”, then choose option below for manual settings, choose can’t find my problem then choose Window XP (don’t matter if it’s service package 3), choose can’t find my problem again just to make it to the next step, then click on “Try Program” or something like that. This is how you start the game in WinXP compatibility mode. Then it should run. Code is: EQMV-73XB-F8J4-GSLX-4M67. Typed it game installed just fine. After it finishes installing it should start the game launcher. Close it. Then go to the folder “The Sims Crack” where the crack is and copy it. Now go to the directory C:/ProgramArchives(x86)/Maxis/TheSims and inside that folder should be the Sims.exe file you need to replace with the cracked one. Click on paste, then replace, then continue as an admin. When it’s done close that folder, you don’t wanna launch that one or you’ll get the fatal error message. Go back to the Game Files folder where everything else was, before the crack and the setup folder, then launch the application file “Start” that is there in compatibility mode, so right click “Solve compatibility issues”, “Can’t find my problem”, “WindowsXP (Servicepackage2/3)”, “can’t find my problem”, “Try program”. And it should run and you should be able to play! After that, don’t know, I’ll keep figuring out as I go.
Is there a way to do this on Windows 10?

Can someone help? when i click start.exe, choose language and click install it says “an installation support file could not be installed – catastrophic failure” ive tried everything even changing compatibility mode 🙁
The start.exe does nothin. pls help
Use the setup.exe in the setup folder.
Thank you, this helped as I was having the same issue!
hi do you mind making a video on youtube how to install this correctly please thanks. i can’t get it to play w-11 user (dell)
Hey, so i tried the serial code and it doesn’t work. It says it is invalid. Any ideas why it isn’t working?
And yes i have double checked i typed it in correctly. I tried it 3 times
I downloaded the game from here a year or so back too but with a new PC I need to reinstall it
I am having the same issue 🙁
It’s not a 9, it’s an S
EQMV-73XB-F8J4-GSLX-4M67
everytime i try to use the setup.exe it asks me if i want to unistall it even after using compatility and the run as admin also it doesnt give me an option to replace the start.exe file it just asks to create a link on my desktop
I can’t get the installer to run on Windows 11. Is there any software requirements? I’ve ran it through compatibility mode and all it does is run for a moment then stop. It just sits in my task managers background processes and doesn’t ever actually do anything.
I had one problem, the game crashed and when i loaded it back up my character became a teenager
Hey, I can’t run this game. This starter window is opening correctly, but when im clicking any options, game is not turning on. How can I fix it?
anybody knows why there’s no goth family and no families in the family bin?
by accident i deleted some files and now i can’t uninstall the sims full collection as i try through the control panel i get an error.
Did you ever figure this out? I have been trying to do this forever too.
You can use a free software like Revo Uninstaller to completely erase any remnant files if that happens.
Remember ladies and gentlemen. This game runs fine. If you are clicking Start.exe and it isn’t working there is a fix. Do NOT click Start.exe. If you have you’ll find a background process you’ll have to close first. Make sure you open setup folder, then Setup.exe under compatibility Windows XP. If you have clicked Start.exe or haven’t closed it’s process after clicking it. Setup.exe will not run.
Once it installs remember to replace sims.exe with crack and run sims.exe in compatibility as well or you’ll get infinite loading screens.
Good luck to you.
Still doesn’t work for me after I’ve done all that. When I move the Crack file into the folder to replace the original sims.exe I get a message saying Windows can’t do that and if I want to put it on the desktop instead. Nothing I do will make this game load/run.
is downloading it legal
how cute
The sims game runs great, but the sims creator will not open. When I click on it, it says that I need to insert a DVD-ROM. Pls help!
