hi can you help me? I just move my mr dj folder flom drive C: to D: , and it seems wont link the gamefile to the “EA Games” files in document, can you guys help?
[RESOLVED]
1. I Create a new folder in the D: drive eg D:/The Sims 2 UC
2. Move the contents of C:Program Files (x86)Mr DJThe Sims 2 Ultimate Collection to the new folder I made on step 1 in drive D:
3. Delete the original “The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection” folder in Mr DJ folder, which should be empty now, from C:Program Files (x86)Mr DJ
4. Open cmd (Comand Promp) and Run as administrator
5. In the Command Prompt window enter these commands:
cd C:Program Files (x86)Mr DJ
mklink /D “The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection” “D:The Sims 2 UC”
6. If you go to C:Program Files (x86)Mr DJ now, you should see a new The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection folder and it will have a little symbol beside the folder icon to show it’s a symbolic link. When you open it, it will open the D: drive folder if you linked it correctly.
I hope it helps some of you who want to move The Sims 2 to another drive (I move from drive C: to drive D:)

Hi I just had the same issue and I fixed it by changing the drive I was using and installing as administrator. The drive I was originally intending to use only had 5 gigs of space.
Will it work on Windows 11?👀

in the original folder u downloaded, “The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection” folder.
So i tried making custom sims in the sims 2 body shop and they dont appear in game where you can select a premade sim. As a matter of fact, its ONLY base game premade sims- not even any of the expansions premade sims. Help??

You need to get a thing to extract. try WinRar, its free online
ok got it but what are the steps to use it as in the winrar? do have a vid to explain it?
Extract it with winrar
Open the folder
open the game folder (not the redsist one)
Find the app file (Should be something like “sims.exe” or something close to that”)
It should install and run right after

start.exe file does nothing. it’s listed in task manager, but it does absolutely nothing. tried all compatibility modes and running as administrator, it DOES NOTHING.
i see i’m not the only one with this problem, why hasn’t it been addressed? what’s wrong?
Go to “game files”. There should be a folder in game files called ‘crack’. Open the crack folder and it should say ‘sims 2 no disc’ or something along those lines. Right click on this folder and run as administrator. this should allow you to play the game with no issues without the disk.
ive been playng sims for the past year now. last time i tried to load it up all my failies and plots are gone with no trace pls help what do i do

Is it neccesary to delete my EA folder, i have my origin games in there.
It is literally called ‘EA Games’, not Electronic Arts. If there is no folder called ‘EA Games’, you should be okay.

Is it really necessary to delete my EA folder? I have sims 4 and sims 3 installed from origin app. Or could i just move the folder to the recylcle bin, install sims 2 and move the folder back?
its “EA Games” folder they want you to delete IF you have, not your electronics arts folder.
I tried to install but got a pop up saying: “An error occurred while unpacking: Unable to read data! Unarc.dll returned an error code: -6. ERROR: can’t open file”. What can I do to solve this?
I played for some time and now I want to re-install itb to start my game agin? How can i do it? I did uninstall it , but it didn’t work, my town is exactly the same as i left it with my sims etc.
Go to documents/EA Games/the Sims 2 and delete the folder called Neighborhoods. The Game should generate a new one when started. It worked when I did it. You can also then copy the new, unplayed Neighborhoods folder and put the copy somewhere else, so you always have a fresh new game ready!
Delete the ‘EA Games’ folder that has The Sims 2 in it.
