Pls help me, I have done all the steps, I have directx 12 installed, but after running as administrator it comes out written: Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible grapichs adapter and have installed the latest drivers priveded by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate.
I had the exact same error – here is the resolution (from Mercy – see below for the entire posting):
You need to run the game in windowed mode. To get windowed mode, right click the shortcut on the desktop, select properties and at the end of the target add a -w. So the target should be this, “C:Program Files (x86)Mr DJThe Sims 2 Ultimate CollectionThe Sims 2 Mansion and Garden StuffTSBinSims2EP9.exe” -w
If the target is different, just add a -w after the quotation marks
I was able to get the game to launch to the loading screen. Unfortunately, it then crashed at about 60% loaded….. 🙁

1. It seems people don’t care about scrolling through comment, and looking for solution. Why u do that guys?
2. In Graphics Rules Maker you need to change the directory to Mr DJ one.
3. Error code – 11 means that you haven’t extract them. Use Winrar to extract it before running setup.exe
4. Alternatively, if you can’t use Graphics Rules Maker, then just run the game in Windowed Mode.

Hi, after downloading a got a folder named “The Sims Ultimate Collection” with 3 files inside: The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection.rar (RAR File, 6,949,706 KB), ThesSims2UltimateCollection_meta.sqlite (SQLITE File, 9 KB), and TheSims2UltimateCollection_meta (XML doc, 1kb).
But the rar file is all white and non interactable. When I try to open it, there’s no app to do it, and there’s no option to extract it (mind you, the file downloaded like this, I havent done any extracting beforehand). So what can I do?

Oh, yeah, thank you for putting up with my ignorance. Downloading that worked!… which kind of sucks, because its only free for 40 days? Is there some other app/integrated app that always extracts for free?
7zip is a free alternative that can extract all archives (including .rar, .7zip, .zip, etc.) it’s 100% free.
Well winrar trial is limitless. Even after 40 days, u can still use it as long as you want. There is free alternative one, called 7-zip.
I’m just in the middle in the process of downloading the game and it is near 90 percent complete and then it says An error occurred while unpacking: Unable to write data to disk! Unarc.dll returned an error code: -11
ERROR: file write operation failed.

Extract the .rar files before installing
hi there i have extracted the files and im still having this problem. do you know what else i could try?
I had this too and for me it was a RAM or storage issue. Clear up maybe around 10GB of space and it should work. If not, it could be an ‘ISdone/unarc’ issue. This article helped me https://windowsreport.com/fix-windows-10-isdone-dll-error/
i cant change the shadows option
Hi its telling me that direct x isnt compatiable with my system therefore the game wouldnt launch, what do i do?
I have the same problem, I heard that using Graphics Rule Maker may help some people and there’s other types of fixes you can try via google however nothing works for me except playing in windowed mode.

i´m so sad i cant play because of my anti virus progamm. i turned it off but still protected
i did everything the tut. says, used the right exe, but all the game does is crash. any advice?

i downloaded it but it doesnt show setup.exe instead it shows setup-1.bin and setup-2.bin. what should i do? theres no setup.exe

You extract it using winrar right? Also disable windows defender before extracting
i tried to download the game but as i opened the launcher to download it, it stopped and said that i needed a disk for it to download. please help!!!

You see where the sims 2 ultimate collection .rar is on the page then you should be greeted with a pop up message just press close then you see two options it should say ” Archive.org and Torrent (Magnet)” which ever one you choose just press the opposite one.
you could try a virtual disk, like daemon tools lite, where you just need to select a file and it generates a “disk” for you. that’s how i did it the first time i installed the game

Whenever i try to take a screenshot, it only takes about two, replacing any other screenshots I’ve taken… Is there a way to fix this?

yes ! i downloaded the game from here a few months ago and i have a lot of cc/mods installed, it works perfectly fine
how did you do it?
Go to EA Games > The Sims 2 > Downloads
Now here in the downloads folder add your mods and cc. If there is not a downloads folder make one that is named Downloads
Exactly that way with D being uppercased and the rest lower cased.

Installed and the game works fine, also the shadows went away… but… I keep getting black lines flashing all up and down the screen. Anyone have this issue or know how to fix it?
adjust the smooth edges in the game settings (there is a possibility that they are greyed out so let me know if you have the option)
