The game requires video card drivers of the following or later versions: - nVidia: ForceWare 91.33 - ATI: Catalyst 6.6 The driver updates can be downloaded free of charge at the websites of ATI (http://ati.amd.com/) and nVIdia (http://www.nvidia.com/). The game also requires Windows Media 9 video codecs that are installed during the game installation process and are also available at the "WMV9" directory on the DVD or on the last CD of the set. «You Are Empty» runs under Windows 2000/XP with DirectX ver. 9.0c or later. Game installation requires 7.5 GB of free hard disc space. It is also recommended to have at least 500 MB of hard disc space for the Windows swap file and saved games. Minimal System Requirements: Windows 2000 or Windows XP; Intel Pentium 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon/Sempron 2500+; 512 MB RAM; GeForce FX 5600 or ATI 9600 video card with 128 MB of video memory and video card drivers of the following or later versions: ForceWare 91.33 (NVidia) and Catalyst 6.6 (ATI) respectively; Windows Media 9; Sound card, 8x CD-ROM. Recommended configuration: Windows 2000 or Windows XP; Intel Pentium 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon/Sempron 3000+; 1 GB RAM; GeForce 6600 or ATI X800 video card with 256 MB of video memory and video card drivers of the following or later versions: ForceWare 91.33 (NVidia) or Catalyst 6.6 (ATI) respectively; Windows Media 9; Sound card, 24x CD-ROM. Attention! It is not recommended to set texture quality at “High” in game settings if your video card has 128 MB of video memory. If you get problems with productivity, it is recommended to set texture quality at “Medium” or “Low” in game settings. 1.2. Installing game Put the first (installation) CD of «You Are Empty» in the CD/DVD drive. If Auto Insert Disc Notification is on, the start menu of the game will pop up. If Auto Insert Disc Notification is off, find the file "autorun.exe" in the root directory of the CD and run it. Choose “Install” in the start menu. The game installation master will guide you through the installation process. Follow its instructions. During the installation process, game files will be copied to the hard disc, and a program group called “1C\You Are Empty” with shortcuts allowing you to run the game, view this file, visit the web-sites of the game, its developers, and publisher, or uninstall the game, will be created in the Start menu. 1.3. Running game In order to run the game, choose the “You Are Empty” shortcut in the “1C\You Are Empty” group of programs (by default) in the “Start” button menu. You can also use the “Start Game” command in the start menu that pops up when you put the game disc in the CD/DVD drive (if the Auto Insert Disc Notification option is not off in your system). If the option “Create Desktop Icon” was chosen during the installation, the game can be run through a shortcut on the Windows desktop. Game screenshots are available at the following directory: My Documents\My Games\YaE\screenshots. Saved games can be found in the directory My Documents\My Games\YaE\savegames. 2. Game Controls Follows the list of default game controls. You can change key functions and other settings by using the Settings menu in the game’s main menu. Deleting game Choose the “Uninstall (Reinstall) Game” shortcut in the game’s program group in the “Start” menu to uninstall the game. You can also use the “Uninstall” command in the start menu that pops up when you put the game disc in the CD drive (if Auto Insert Disc Notification is not off). 4. List of Changes in Version 1.1 - Fixed error with non-operability control keys and their settings that emerged in case the keyboard layout was set at anything other than English by default. - Fixed problems with choosing a weapon by the scroll wheel. - Fixed error with “hanging” objects in the game (chairs, first-aid kits, automobile glasses, etc.). - Fixed problems with game performance on Dual Core processors. - Minimized chances of program failure due to technical reasons. - In case the system does not correspond to minimal requirements, the game quits with a correct notification. - Improved productivity with a large number of simultaneous effects in a shot. - Fixed error with the invisible gun in the scene with Mayor on the City Council level. - Added boot screen background on the final level. - Other changes made to the game design. 5. Technical Support If you encounter problems while playing the game, do the following before you contact the publisher: - Choose “Run” in the “Start” menu. - Type «dxdiag» in the dialog window and press “Enter” to run Microsoft DirectX Diagnostic Tool. - Pass all tests. - Having passed the tests, press “Save All Information”. - Send the text file obtained and a description of your problem to technical support. Please also provide the following information: - game version (installed updates) - operating system - processor brand, type and clock speed - RAM volume - sound card type - video adapter model and parameters - CD-ROM drive type - mouse type and driver version - DirectX version - detailed description of the problem that you faced. 6.
