Premier Manager 99 Copyright Gremlin Interactive Ltd. 1999 ===================================================================== Welcome to Premier Manager 99. This file contains information in addition to the manual but you are well advised to read the manual first. If you still have any difficulty running or playing the game contact the Gremlin Helpline either by telephone on 0114 2799020, or send a letter to the address on the box. It's also worth a visit to our website at: http://www.gremlin.co.uk Troubleshooting - Questions and Answers Q1.) The in game match modes are very slow and jerky. A1.) There could be two reasons for this. The first is that you are playing on a slow machine P166; or the install you have chosen requires you to load a lot of graphics off the CD. 1.) If you are playing on a P166 machine it is recommended that you play the match in either the results or brief highlights mode. 2.) Reinstall the game and use the custom option to install more files onto the hard drive. As a general rule of thumb the more files you copy to the hard drive during installation the faster the game will run. 3.) The game will not run if you have insufficient space on your Hard Drive. You are recommended to have at least 200 MB of free Hard Drive space on your Boot drive, this is usually the C Drive. The more free space you have the smoother and quicker the game will run. Any less than 200 MB, and the game will not run at all. Q2.) The game does not work at all. A2.) The most common reason for the game not working is that the DirectX6 drivers are not certified. You can check that these drivers are certified by checking in c:\Program Files\Directx\setup\ then run the DXSETUP.EXE file. This will report if the drivers are working correctly. Premier Manager 99 will automatically install Directx6 onto your machine when it installs the game. If you are still experiencing problems then contact the hardware manufacturer. Q3.) How do I use the Replay Buttons? A3.) All the Replay Buttons have a separate key designation. Play Forward Ctrl + Right Arrow Key Play Backwards Ctrl + Left Arrow Key Stop Space Fast Forward Right Arrow Key Rewind Left Arrow Key Go To Start Up Arrow Key Go To End Down Arrow Key Q4.) I have a Power VR card, and the game will not run in View mode or Highlights modes? A4.) Unfortunately PM99 does not support PowerVR cards, therefore you will have to disable the Power VR card for the game to run in these modes. To disable your PowerVR card, follow the following procedure. 1) Click Start and go to Settings, then select Control Panel. 2) In the Control Panel select Display. 3) Select the Tab for your Power VR card. 4) Then UN-Tick "Enable PowerVR Hal". 5) Then select Apply and the game will now run normally. Q5.) When I remove the CD from the CD ROM, I get an error message "Application Cannot Continue", what do I do? A5.) If you do not have a Maximum install, then the CD should not be removed from the CD ROM. Q6.) I have a 2 MB Video Card and I am experiencing graphical problems in View mode and Highlights modes? A6.) Due to hardware restrictions it is suggested that you view the game in Software modes only if you are using a 2 MB Video Card. Q7.) In View Mode, I just get a Black Screen but can hear the in game sounds? A7.) If you are using a resolution in excess of 1024 * 768, and you experience this problem, then your graphics card is unable to support this resolution. Therefore it is suggested that you select a lower resolution. Please NOTE: When you are in the middle of a match, if you click on the Exit Icon you will quit the game completely, and not the current match.
