Older graphics cards such as ATI 7200/7500 and SiS Xabre 400. ========================================================= 4) Compatibility ========================================================= ********************************************************* It is very important that you install the latest drivers for your card before running Juiced as there are known problems with older drivers. ********************************************************* You can download current drivers from the manufacturer websites such as: nVidia - http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp ATI - http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html Matrox - http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/drivers/home.cfm RealTek - http://www.realtek.com.tw To download drivers for your laptop or notebook, visit the website of the manufacturer of your computer. Windows update should be used regularly to ensure your system has the latest system patches. Juiced Requires virtual memory to be enabled. PERIPHERALS Juiced should be compatible with Directinput compatible devices. ========================================================= 5) Known Issues ========================================================= Installation: Installation can fail with an Incompatible RPC stub error message, this can be fixed by follow instructions at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;321915 Video: Check system specification and close down all background applications. It is highly recommended to go to your video card manufacturer's website and download updated drivers for your card. Some drivers have been seen to have shader specific problems, you experience graphical issues with the latest drivers, try scaling back the shaders using the option found in the troubleshooter tab of JuicedConfig If you are experiencing flickering 'z-fighting', or lighting issues we recommend using 32 bit screen modes from JuicedConfig. Widescreen option in JuicedConfig will correct the aspect ratio for widescreen displays. Juiced has a number of different material techniques to take advantage of various graphic hardware capabilities, be aware, using graphics hardware not capable of running shaders, Geforce2/4MX for example, or using the troubleshooting no shaders option will give minimal quality inferior rendering. Juiced is known to be incompatible with older graphics cards such as ATI 7200/7500 and SiS Xabre 400 Sound: If you experience problems, it is highly recommended that you to go to your sound card manufacturer's website and download updated drivers for your card. Some drivers have exhibited problems, if you experience issues relating to audio and performance latest drivers, try using troubleshooting options found in the troubleshooter tab of JuicedConfig, such as unticking 'Hardware mixing'. If you find audio being directed the wrong audio device, for example due to insertion of USB headset, you can set your default sound playback device using the audio tab of the Sounds and Audio Devices properties found in control panel. EAX, disabling the EAX option in the troubleshooter can yield improved frame rates and reduce sound related issues on some systems. Juiced requires an audio card capable of supporting a minimum sample rate of 8Khz or less, and will not support cards such as the M-Audio Revolution. Input: If you experience problems please check that you have the latest drivers for your device. Some systems have been seen to experience problems selecting the controller options, if your system fails to show a DirectInput controller configuration box when you select this option please run the dInputFix.bat found in your installation directory. Some issues have been noted with pedal set-up when using steering wheel devices, such as the Logitech Momo Wheel, please check your 'Pedals reported as Combined' option is ticked for these devices. This option will be found in your control panel. Steering wheel option found in game options should be switched to yes for use with a steering wheel only. Online Connect online using GameSpy, see manual and www.GameSpy.com for further details. General: DirectX9C is required to play Juiced, and should be installed as part of the installation process. The latest version of DirectX can be downloaded from: www.microsoft.com\directx If you encounter virtual memory errors while loading Juiced you will need to clear some more free space on your hard drive. Choppy video play back particularly on older systems, maybe due to a fragmented hard drive, consider using Disk Defragmenter. It is strongly recommended that you close all applications before installing and running Juiced. You can use your task manager to close down unwanted applications. Improving Game play Performance If you are experiencing low performance you should... - Make sure your system has enough resources free, shut down all other applications. - Run JuicedConfig and switch antialiasing to level 0 - Make sure you have the latest video card drivers for your graphics card. - Run JuicedConfig and reduce the video mode to a less demanding setting e.g. 640*480*16. - Use the graphics options in game to reduce track detail to minimum. - Use the shaders tab in JuicedConfig to limit the more sophisticated shaders, setting to shader 1.0 will boost overall performance on some graphics cards. - Turn off effect options such as motion blur and depth of field. - Unticking the 'Hardware mixing' option in JuicedConfig troubleshooter tab, which can improve performance on some audio cards. - Try disabling EAX option in troubleshooter, this can yield improved frame rates and reduce audio related issues on some systems. ========================================================= 6) Technical Support ========================================================= If you are experiencing technical problems with this game, please contact your local THQ technical support department from the list below. INJUNCTION. Because THQ would be irreparably damaged if the terms of this License Agreement were not specifically enforced, you agree that THQ shall be entitled, without bond, other security or proof of damages, to appropriate equitable remedies with respect to breaches of this Agreement, in addition to such other remedies as THQ may otherwise have under applicable laws. 12. INDEMNITY. At THQ's request, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless THQ, its subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, licensees, distributors, developers, content providers, and other users of the Software, from all damages, losses, liabilities, claims and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising directly or indirectly from your acts and omissions to act in using the Software pursuant to the terms of this License Agreement or any breach of this License Agreement by you. THQ reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you hereunder, and in such event, you shall have no further obligation to provide indemnification for such matter. 13. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS. The Software and documentation have been developed entirely at private expense and are provided as "Commercial Computer Software" or "restricted computer software." Use, duplication or disclosure by the U.S. Government or a U.S. Government subcontractor is subject to the restrictions set forth in subparagraph (c)(1)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clauses in DFARS 252.227-7013 or as set forth in subparagraph (c)(1) and (2) of the Commercial Computer Software Restricted Rights clauses at FAR 52.227-19, as applicable. Without prejudice to any other rights of THQ, this License Agreement and your right to use the Software may automatically terminate without notice from THQ if you fail to comply with any provision of this Agreement or any terms and conditions associated with the Software. In such event, you must destroy all copies of this Software and all of its component parts. 15. GENERAL PROVISIONS. You may not use, copy, modify, sublicense, rent, sell, assign or transfer the rights or obligations granted to you in this Agreement, except as expressly provided in this Agreement. Any assignment in violation of this Agreement is void, except that you may transfer your Software to another person provided that person accepts the terms of this License Agreement. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be reformed only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable, and such decision shall not affect the enforceability of: (i) such provision under other circumstances, or (ii) the remaining provisions hereof under all circumstances. THQ's failure to enforce at any time any of the provisions of this Agreement shall in no way be construed to be a present or future waiver of such provisions, nor in any way affect the right of any party to enforce each and every such provision thereafter. The express waiver by THQ of any provision, condition or requirement of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of any future obligation to comply with such provision, condition or requirement. Notwithstanding anything else in this Agreement, no default, delay or failure to perform on the part of THQ shall be considered a breach of this Agreement if such default, delay or failure to perform is shown to be due to causes beyond the reasonable control of THQ. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States without regard to its conflicts of laws rules and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in Los Angeles County, California. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods shall not apply to this Agreement. This Agreement represents the complete agreement concerning this License Agreement between you and THQ.
