Start Windows(R) 95 or Windows(R) 98. 2. Remove the CD from its protective case and place it in the CD-ROM drive of your computer. Use a disc caddy if your CD-ROM requires one. Insert the "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver" CD to begin to play. 3. The "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver" Setup screen is displayed. From this window, you can: a) Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions. b) Click Cancel to exit the Setup program. * Unfortunately, there are some CD-ROM drives that do not yet support the AutoPlay functions of Windows(R) 95. If the "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver" Setup screen does not display, you must complete the following setup procedure: 1. Open the Start menu on the Taskbar. 2. Select Run... from the Start menu and the Run dialog box displays. 3. In the Open box, type D:\SETUP (if your CD-ROM is not the D: drive, enter the appropriate letter) and then click OK. 4. The "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver" Setup screen displays. 5. You are given the choice to: a) Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions. b) Click Cancel to exit the Setup program. The following icons are installed in the Stunt Track Driver program group: * Stunt Track Driver - Program icon * Readme - Read Me File icon * Uninstall Stunt Track Driver - Uninstall program icon B) Uninstalling the Program Windows(R) 95 and Windows(R) 98: 1. Click the Start button on the Taskbar to bring up the Start menu. 2. Select Programs and then the Stunt Track Driver program group. 3. Click the Uninstall Stunt Track Driver icon. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the uninstall process. 5. Please be sure to restart your computer after uninstall to ensure that all of the program files have been removed. Section 3: TROUBLESHOOTING AND GENERAL TIPS This section discusses performance tuning issues you might encounter as you play "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver" CD-ROM. A) Screensavers: 1. To avoid any possible conflicts, it is recommended that you turn off all screensavers before running "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver." B) Third Party Shell: 1. To avoid any possible conflicts, we recommend that you run this program under Windows(R) Explorer. C) Sound: 1. Make sure that your computer speakers are turned ON and the volume is adjusted properly. 2. Make sure that you do not have the SOUND muted. Double click on the small speaker icon in the Taskbar at the bottom of your screen to check. 3. If you encounter no sound while playing "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver," and you have Intel(R) 3D Realistic Sound Experience (3DRSX) installed on your computer, use the Add/Remove function in the Control Panel, click to select "Intel(R) RSX 3D", then click "Apply" and "Yes" button to remove it. To reinstall Intel(R) RSX 3D, use the manufacturer's disc supplied to you, or visit Intel's web site at: http://developer.intel.com/ial/rsx/download.htm Then download the "rsx3drun.exe" file and reinstall. D) If Display Or Graphics Problems Occur: If you experience display or graphics problems while running the "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver" CD-ROM: 1. We recommend that you set your display setting to 640x480x256 colors. See Windows(R) documentation if you do not know how to adjust your video display. 2. Contact your video card or system vendor to obtain the latest version of your video driver. Note: You may be able to download this information from the Internet. 3. If you encounter any of these problems, please contact your video display manufacturer. If the manufacturer is unable to help you, please call our Customer Support. 4. Make sure no other applications are running while "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver" CD-ROM is running. 5. Make sure that you do not click repeatedly on the Stunt Track Driver icon after double-clicking it once to launch the program. 6. If you experience problems after installing DirectX(R), do the following: Click on the Start button. Select "Run". Type the following: "C:\Program Files\directx\setup\Dxsetup.exe". You should now see the DirectX(R) Setup dialog box appear. Select "Restore Display Drivers." Your old video card display drivers should now be reinstalled. 7. If you receive an "Can't Init Graphic Card. Consult Readme or reinstall DirectX 6.0" error message: While in "Hot Wheels(TM) Stunt Track Driver," press the F1 key. You will see a number appear in the upper left hand corner of your screen. This number (640x480/320x240/320x200) is the screen resolution that will be used in race mode. If you have trouble with one screen resolution, try another! E) Setting up your joystick: 1. Be sure your joystick is plugged into the correct port on your computer. 2.
