"\Directx8" and click on DXSETUP.EXE b) DirectX8.0a and supported hardware We recommend that Cricket 2002 be run with DirectX compatible sound cards and video cards. While there is a chance that Cricket 2002 will run with non-DirectX compatible hardware, you may find that: i) Sound quality suffers. ii) The game runs slower. iii) The game does not run at all. Troubleshooting Video / 3D cards ------------------------------ The following 8MB or greater 3D accelerators are not fully supported and may not work properly with the Cricket 2002: Video cards that use a 3DFX chipset (Voodoo 3/4/5) do not have support for DirectX libraries 8 and above, and as such cannot be supported by Cricket 2002. Radeon 7200 - You may encounter slowdown in some areas of the game. Permedia chipsets Rage 128 chipsets Riva TNT I Savage 2000 Savage 4 Matrox G200 It is also recommended that Cricket 2002 is run in 16 bit colour depth for improved performance ----------- 6. Peripherals ----------- Cricket 2002 supports Microsoft Windows-compatible keyboards, mice and a maximum of 2 connected DirectX compatible game controllers (6 buttons minimum). Due to keyboard buffering issues it is not possible for both users to select keyboard controls. If only 1 controller is connected to your pc, then only player 1 will be able to select this device. Player 2 will then be able to use keyboard controls. If 2 controllers are connected to your PC then both players can select keyboard and controller setups. Player 2 control setup will only become visible in the Control Options screen if Player 1 has selected a control type other than keyboard. -------------- 7. TroubleShooting -------------- You may experience cursor issues when Alt Tabbing to your desktop. If this happens, just press the Windows key on your keyboard to resolve the problem. It is recommended that users do not task switch whilst Cricket 2002 is running. If you do you may experience audio and/or visual issues when playing cricket 2002. With the following sound cards you may experience problems with a controller plugged into the gameport: Audio Wave AW32 PNP Crystal AW 32-3D ESS ES1688 Sc-200 Rev B ESS ES1869F AudioDrive Win95 users may experience a loss of music. This is because Cricket 2002 uses 32 bit codecs for audio compression. To verify that the 32-bit codecs included with Windows 95 are installed, follow these steps: Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Add/Remove Programs, click the Windows Setup tab, click Multimedia, and then click Details. Verify that the Audio Compression check box is selected. If it is not selected, click to select the check box, and then click OK . You may experience problems if you alter the default keyboard configuration. This is due to the way that different keyboards handle multiple button presses. If you experience problems when multiple keys are pressed, try a configuration where you do not use multiple keys on the same row. Note: When using the default key on the NUMPAD, the 'Num Lock' function must be activated. ----- 8.
