Installation --------------- NOTE: BIONICLE will only install and run on machines installed with Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. 1. Start your machine and wait for the Windows 98/ME/2000/XP operating system to load. 2. Place the BIONICLE CD 1 in the CD drive. 3. Windows will automatically detect the CD and begin the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions to install BIONICLE. If you need to install DirectX9, you can do this as part of the installation. 4. The installation program adds a program group called LEGO Interactive/BIONICLE to your Start/Programs menu, and a shortcut to your desktop (optional). Click on this shortcut or alternatively click on the start button on your Windows task bar. Under Programs/LEGO Interactive/BIONICLE select BIONICLE to play. You will need to have BIONICLE CD 1 in the CD drive in order to play the game. Note: If the Auto insert notification feature has been disabled or the CD is not recognised, run Setup.exe from the root directory of the CD to begin the installation program. ---------- 3. DirectX ---------- For your convenience, we have included DirectX9 on the BIONICLE CD 1. a) Installing DirectX9 directly from CD (if you skipped it during game install) BIONICLE comes with DirectX9 and will prompt you to install it during installation. If you would like to install it manually, make sure the BIONICLE CD 1 is in the CD-ROM drive and browse to the following folder. "\DirectX9" and click on DXSETUP.EXE b) DirectX9 and supported hardware We recommend that BIONICLE be run with DirectX compatible sound cards and video cards. While there is a chance that BIONICLE will run with non-DirectX compatible hardware, you may find that: i) Sound quality suffers. ii) The game runs slower. iii) The game does not run at all. If your sound card or video card does not support DirectX, please contact your vendor. ------------ 4. Uninstall ------------ To uninstall BIONICLE go to Programs/LEGO Interactive/BIONICLE in the Start menu. Click on Uninstall BIONICLE to proceed. Alternatively, click on the Start menu, select Settings and then Control Panel. Now find Add/Remove Programs and click to run. Scroll down the list until you see BIONICLE, select it and click on Add/Remove to uninstall. ----------------------------------- 5. Troubleshooting Video / 3D cards ----------------------------------- It is highly recommended that the latest offically released reference drivers are installed for performance and compatibility. As BIONICLE requires DirectX9 or higher these video cards are no longer supported. -------------- 6. Peripherals -------------- BIONICLE supports game controllers that are 100% compatible with DirectX9 (Direct Input). A dual analog joypad is recommended for full functionality. You must have the very latest driver software installed for your game controller to ensure it works correctly with this game. You can download the latest driver software for various game controllers from the controller manufacturer's website. ------------------- 7. Trouble Shooting ------------------- The PowerVR Kyro II chipset has been tested with driver version 15.0084 and has no known issues. If you experience any problems when viewing the movies in the game then copy the "Movies" folder from BIONICLE Disk 1 to the folder on your PC where BIONICLE was installed to. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files\LEGO Interactive\BIONICLE. Please refer to the manual for troubleshooting information ------- 8. Help ------- If the above does not resolve your problem then please use the EA Technical Help file situated in Start Menu/Programs/LEGO Interactive/BIONICLE/EA Technical Help. ------- 9. Intel Hyperthreading Enhancements ------- Intel features are enabled when BIONICLE detects a hyperthreaded or multiple processor Intel Pentium computer with a recommended graphics card. These effects will be enabled using the power only an Intel machine can provide. A special shadowing technique reveals the shadows on many more characters, allowing you to spot enemies at a greater distance. The characters are far more detailed, approximating more closely to how they appear in the film. Constantly changing skies in the outdoor levels give a heightened dramatic atmosphere; these range from storms and rolling clouds to bright sunny days, blinding you if you look too closely at the sun. The enhanced water interacts with the characters, creating realtime ripples and reflections from the environment, including the sky. Archived by OldGamesDownload.com on 11th August, 2019
